Review: Tyler, The Creator - Cherry Bomb

Tyler, The Creator released his new album Cherry Bomb, on April 9, 2015. Punk-Rap to Classic RnB is a interesting mix, but I love it!

This is Tyler's fourth LP and this may be my favorite. I really love the beats, every track fits perfectly to Tyler's straight-forward and edgy raps. Most raps are written from Tyler himself but a few have guest writers with the talents of Kanye West and Schoolboy Q. I really enjoy the mood this album brings, Such as the slower RnB track "FIND YOUR WINGS". The choir vocals add a great sound in the middle of the new album. Now "CHERRY BOMB" is a different story, Tyler screams over lo-fi drum and bass. Distorted beats with a groovy rap over it. I love when songs connect at the end, it adds a nice touch and also a great flow between different style tracks.

I think Tyler, The Creator new album is reminiscent to Kid Cudi, His earlier music especially. I think Tyler does it a little better. Tyler is way over the top at sometimes, symphonies are being played between the beats.  My expectations from the beginning of the album are completely changed toward the end of this album. I love the Mac Demarco reverence in the song "2SEATER". "Hanging out the sunroof, listening to Mac Demarco."

This album is must listen if you are looking to listen to a different kind of rap album. His alternative flair is brilliantly placed in every track and I really appreciate the variety of each song. You can pick up this album at your local music store and also on Amazon! Hopefully it will be released on vinyl soon, that will be album to add to your collection. I rate this album a 8.5 out of 10. I enjoyed every track on this album, even if some of them are over the top. This album is for fans of Childish Gambino and for those who good old RnB.
