Review: The Story So Far - The Story So Far

The Story So Far is a 5-piece pop-punk band from California. With 2 studio albums in their discography since starting in 2007, The Story So Far have a lot of experience in the scene. It's been 3 years since their 2012 release "What You Don't See" and the band been working hard ever since on their self-titled album. I had a chance to check out this album and here's what I found out.

The Story So Far is most definitely still pop-punk as proved by the first song "Smile". Whenever I first listened to the track all I could think is: "Am I listening to a b-side of 'What You Don't See' ?" It sounded as if they had written both this and their prior album together.

I kept listening and found that The Story So Far hasn't changed too much. Lyrically and instrumentally they are the same and this is actually a good thing. I'm glad to see a band who is consistently putting out the same style of music and it always sounds good.  This album is going to be a gateway album to bands like Four Year Strong and The Wonder Years. Overall this album gets a 8 out of 10 for keeping pop-punk alive and containing 10 great jamming songs. This will definitely be an album to add to your summer listening schedule.
