Review: The Early November - Imbue
The Early November is releasing their forth studio album titled Imbue on May 12th, 2015! After only listening to the songs they released on youtube I was excited to hear more! I really enjoyed this band when they first started out and I am glad to see them make more great music! The difference between their earlier releases and now is that they have a more poppy alternative sound. This album is very catchy and it sounds fantastic! They have a similar sound to bands like "Mae" and "Jack's Mannequin". The Early November does a really extraordinary job in this album.
Narrow Mouth would have to be one of my favorites on this album, It starts off slow and keeps getting more upbeat throughout the song. I love the synth in it and the guitar tone pairs perfectly with Arthur Enders. Arthur is a really talented singer and how he yells rather then screams is perfect with the guitar riff. This track has me dancing and grooving at the same time, really great song to sing along with too! I would love to see them play this song live, I will be looking if they are touring.
Better this way is also a fantastic song, I have no doubt this will be the hit track off this album. The chorus ringing in your ears right away hits deep. I love the feedback sounds in this track, has a very aquatic vibe in it. This song is a bit all over the place, not in a bad way really. I like the variety throughout this album and this song really stands out above the rest. This song has a sweet music video that I will post below!
I have no doubt this album will not be one of the best albums of 2015. Brilliantly made and it is just a solid album all around. I rate this album a 9 out of 10. If you are looking to listen to catchy pop punk especially with all this warm weather coming, this album is worth listening to or purchasing! You can pick of physical copies at The Early Novembers website, they have all types of really cool bundles and it also gives you their tour dates!
