Review: Halestorm - Into the Wild Life
Halestorm's much-anticipated third studio album, “Into the Wild Life” is releasing April 14, 2015 in the US. I could not help but nod my head while listening to this album. This album proves that Halestorm has found their passion in music making and their talent by being “In your face” at song one.
I love the variety of genres that Halestorm is switching between throughout this album, with tracks that are lovely power ballads’ with Lzzy Hale on vocals, to shredding Glam Metal with melodies by Joe Hottinger. Halestorm’s diversity throughout the album kept me wanting more. Their new Alternative style is approachable to new listeners as well as applauded by die-hard fans.
Their single “Mayhem” shows the range of this whole album. The fresh electronic effects accompanied by Lzzy’s rough vocals, Creates a sound that will lead to head banging in no time.
Halestorm’s other release, “Amen”, is a great example of one of their less Hard Rock tracks. This track is more Country Rock and it would fit perfectly blasting out of one of your favorite bars jukebox. Lzzy’s vocals on this and a few other tracks show how much soul she put into this album. Arejay Hale’s drumming also brings this track alive!
Overall, Halestorm’s new album “Into the Wild Life” is worth listening to and purchasing. After listening to the two very different releases, I didn’t know what to expect for the rest of the album’s sound. Once I listened to the full album, it quickly went high up on my list of solid Alternative Hard Rock Albums!
Alright lets break this down for a rating shall we? Everyone in Halestorm really works well together, being this is their third studio album I am glad they have found their stride. Halestorm deserves to be appreciated for that reason alone. Being able to perfect their songs in such a way and get away with various genres of music in this album.
I rate this album a 8.5 out of 10 based on musical talent and cooperation between all members.
