Blackout Balter are are four piece alt-rock band hailing from Cambridge. MA. These unsigned heroes were lucky enough to meet up with Dave Keuning from The Killers who listened to their demo and fell head over heels and invited the band to record with him and asked if he could play on the record. The final product is this six song EP, Twist and Bend offering a fresh take on all that is alt-rock.

The EP starts off with "Marionette," a fun, upbeat song with really cool synth/electronic elements to go along with the instrumentation. Then comes "Goodbye Cambridge" which features Keuning from The Killers on the cello. Vocalist, Philip Cohen provides hypnotic vocals throughout and the backing instrumentals come across beautifully lucid. "Everything Becomes Mechanical" is the latest single off of the EP, and it is incredibly catchy, by the end of the song I was jammin' along to the chorus. Easily my favorite song off of this EP, I can picture this playing on alt-rock radio stations across the country. There is a tempo change towards the end of the song where they slow it down and focus in on the vocals, and it offers a great contrast to the rest of the bouncy flow the song has."Hello Operator" and "Heavy Hand"  both feature Jessica Cohen, who provides a stunning addition to the vocals in these songs. "Edison" closes out the EP with a bang; this song is super upbeat and fun, with plenty of crowd-worthy sing-a-long moments throughout. Overall, this EP gives me nothing but care-free, summer vibes. Something I can see you putting in on the drive to the beach to jam out to with your friends. You'll definitely have to keep an eye out for more from these guys, because they're going to go somewhere with this one.
