Break out the tuxes and the thousands of dollars dresses! For movie and television enthusiasts like me, we have only one more week until awards season is upon us! The awards shows span over three months, starting with the Golden Globes and ending with the mecca of all awards shows- The Oscars. Yes, the People's Choice Awards are on Jan. 7th, but I prefer the awards that come from their peers voting. The general population isn't well known for choosing exceptional candidates.

Kicking off the main awards season is the 72nd Golden Globes Awards. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting for the third (and last) time in a row. The pair killed it on stage with their comedic chemistry in 2013 and 2014. I wouldn't expect anything less from these two talents.

The top nominees this year include BoyhoodBirdman, and Fargo. Fan favorites such as Netflix's hit show Orange Is The New Black and Showtime's Homeland also made the cutI was supremely excited to see St. Vincent got a nod, as well as Bill Murray for his epic performance. That movie was by far one of my favorites of the year. It has tough competition, going up against Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel (who doesn't love a good Wes Anderson flick?), as well as the star filled musical Into The Woods which just released on Christmas Day. Also in a good fight are the animated films, including the "Everything is Awesome" Lego MovieHow To Train Your Dragon 2, and the heart-wrenching, yet amusing, Disney superhero movie- Big Hero 6.

Check out the full list of nominees below. Any snubs? Any nominations that shouldn't be there? Any you think will most definitely win? Comment and tell us your thoughts and we will see if you were right when the Golden Globes air on Jan. 11th! Let's see if the Hollywood Foreign Press disappoints or shines light on the deserving!
