Premiere: Second Hand Mojo - After Midnight

Second Hand Mojo aren't reinventing the wheel with their newest single "After Midnight" (the title track off their new album dropping January 24th) but who needs to when you've got a sound as simultaneously tight and lively as they do. Nods from several of rock n roll's finest moments over the decades (the absolutely soaring organ solo, the Cheap Trick-esque chorus hook, the bold 80's guitars and drums) create a feel that is familiar while adding something uniquely fresh, something you can't quite pin down that's special about the track... maybe it's the obvious years of musicianship put into their craft, or maybe the fact that this is just a badass rock song, plain and simple. Whatever it is, Second Hand Mojo has an obvious chemistry that shines through brightly on "After Midnight", take your first listen below!

Second Hand Mojo spent 3 full consecutive days in August 2019 holed up at Plymouth Rock Recording Company in the heart of historic Old Village in Plymouth, MI. The result is their debut EP “After Midnight”, a collection of 6 songs that each uniquely captures what The Mojo sound is all about. The title track uses an infectious groove to set a gritty tone of what’s to come. “Hold On” takes you back to a time when heavy metal ruled the Sunset Strip, but with a softer, more melodic approach.

Then “Call Me” goes back just a bit further to represent a true classic rock song, written today. The smokey vocals on top of bluesy guitar licks and ivory tickling in “All About You”, team up with the tender acoustic ballad “One Last Song” to give you a couple of attention grabbing tales of love lost. And leave to “Saturday Night” to prove that arena rock is no doubt still alive and well.
