After the band announced their Skate and Surf appearance, and a show with Code Orange Kids, many have been wondering what is next for the Poison The Well. Today, we've got some answers.

You're playing with Code Orange and performing at Skate and Surf this month; will there be more shows in the future and in various places around the country? 

Not 100% sure as of yet. Everyone is really busy with other endeavors in life now and people being able to be in the same place at the same time seems is proving to be a bit difficult. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. If we do play shows, it's not going to be in abundance and we want the shows to be special in their own ways. 

What was it that spurred the group to decide to play together again? Was their anything specific that made it different now versus in the past?

I think it had been hanging out in the back of our heads for sometime now. Jeff and I had spoken about doing something, as we still get offers for festivals and such. Ryan had been the one that was very busy and into what he was doing at the time. I think it took a good solid offer and a conference call to sort of get the process going and get excited again. We've all grown up a bit more and have been able to do other things outside of the band. For such a long time the band and collective was number one. When you step away from something special for awhile, if you're lucky to come back to it, you can appreciate it a whole lot more. 

What about new music? Has this been something that's been discussed?

Nothing as of yet. We're trying to just play these shows and see how things go. Once again, it's hard to get everyone in the same room at the same time. We'll just have to wait and see how things play out. It would be nice, though.

What would Poison The Well sound like in today's music landscape? Would the band continue in the direction that was started in 'The Tropic Rot' or go in a completely different way?

Not 100% sure, to be honest. Though I do know one thing would be for certain, we wouldn't go backwards. Where ever we're going to go is going to be forward and try to discover new territory musically. I mean regardless of what we do, it's going to sound like Poison the Well. That's unavoidable  So you would probably be able to hear elements of our previous records in whatever we do. It will most likely be another chapter in the story, just one least expected. We don't like being obvious in our choices. 

Have practices started at all? What's it like to play together again?

Yes, we just did four days breaking in our new hired guitar player. They went really well, it was really nice playing these songs with my friends again. Jeff and Ryan are like brothers to me.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve seen with musicians reuniting old bands and playing old songs is their struggle to physically re-live the emotions of those old songs. Do you think that will be an issue for you?

Not for me, exactly. I love playing drums and can have fun playing what ever, where ever. I could see it being an issue for Jeffrey, as he's a bit older now and on a different path in life. He probably has a different perspective of the world and though I'm sure he can appreciate his older lyrics, he may have a hard time relating to them now. Not speaking for him, just saying what I think could be the case.

Any thoughts to handling expectations within a really devoted fan base?

Hopefully they know not to expect anything from us, especially the obvious. Whatever you get from us will be honest, fun and nothing less than 100%.
