NTH RD Release Impassioned New Single "I Watched You Fade Away"
Melbourne's NTH RD release their hard hitting new single "I Watched You Fade Away", exploring the processes of loss and change. The video is streaming today via The AU Review!
"I Watched You Fade Away" is produced, mixed and mastered by Chistopher Vernon (Belle Haven, Future Static, Bloom) and serves as a follow-up to the band's debut EP 'Panic', released in June. Outlining the different stages of a panic attack, NTH RD's debut EP 'Panic' exhibited the band's determination and willingness to explore difficult topics, "I Watched You Fade Away" addresses similar themes.
Vocalist and lyricist Jordan Kellaway divulges that the song 'revolves around the concept of somebody changing into a person that you no longer recognise', rather than the physical sense of loss. The title of the single aptly summarises the story of the song, with bassist Lucas Banim affirming that the song details 'the notion of losing a friend, and watching them gradually 'fade away' into a shell of the person that you used to know'.
Encompassing all aspects of NTH RD's established sound, "I Watched You Fade Away" features elements that have come to define the band; anthemic arena-ready riffs, huge choruses and atmospheric soundscapes, all while boasting the band's most dynamic and crushing breakdowns to date. Brooding and heavy from the onset with melodic flourishes littered throughout, NTH RD's energetic new single promises to have listeners in a chokehold until the very last note.
NTH RD is Jordan Kellaway (vocals), Lucas Banim (bass), Billy Balassis (guitar) and John Mihaloudakis (drums). Solidifying their position as a band to watch moving towards 2023, "I Watched You Fade Away" reinforces NTH RD's ability to provide consistent and catchy tunes, while demonstrating the results of the band's well-honed work ethic.
Beat Mag praised NTH RD for "seamlessly blending atmospheric passages with huge choruses, infectious riffs and crushing breakdowns" on the 'Panic' EP, Wall Of Sound confirmed "Panic is a brilliant first outing that really gives the Melbourne quartet a chance to spread their wings" and Hysteria Mag highlighted that the band "really own a sound that would appeal to fans of any genre of heavy music."
Despite the short time frame between releases, fans can be sure that when this band drops a new song, it comes with intention and purpose, "I Watched You Fade Away" is no exception, and serves as yet another noteworthy inclusion to the band's quickly growing catalogue.
“I Watched You Fade Away” will be available and streaming on all platforms tomorrow. Video streaming now!
