Kill Surf City (Grey Gordon) Premieres New Song, Transistor
Grey Gordon (No Sleep Records) has a new solo project titled Kill Surf City. Blacktop Records has recently signed Kill Surf City with a cassette tape release planned for later this year. To celebrate the signing and the 12th anniversary of Blacktop Record the label will be releasing a compilation album Oct 27th on compact disc/digital featuring a brand new unreleased song from Kill Surf City titled "Transistor'. The compilation also features tracks from Kevin Seconds (7seconds) Jonah Matranga (onelinedrawing) Open Hand, Wheatus, MC Lars and Green Jelly.
We have an exclusive quote from Grey Gordon about the song: "'Transistor' is a natural progression for this project. I started Kill Surf City with the intention to do something in the vein of The Jesus and Mary Chain, and while thats still a huge sonic influence, I can't stick to just one thing. Transistor is a step forward in what I intend to be a continually shifting sound. For this one, Im drawing heavily on some of my other biggest influences like Guided By Voices and Portastatic. I can never stay away from 90s college rock for too long, it seems."
