Heavy Metal Bands to Listen to This 2024

Metal is often a misunderstood genre of music. Well, we can't blame them as it's not for everyone. It's not exactly elevator music after all. But hey, for those of us who love it, there's good news. There are a lot of new metal bands that have been impressive so far. And it's actually a sight to see because some people say that metal is already dying. That's far from the truth though! With all these new talents gaining a spot in the limelight, metal is very much alive and kicking.

So, if you've been a metalhead for quite a while and are looking for something new to listen to, we've got an interesting list for you. It’ll be a treat to be able to watch metal bands on streaming services soon. That’s a topic for another day. So, for now, let us share our top picks.

1. Aether Realm

If you ever wanted to blast off into space on a rocket made of guitars, this is your band. Aether Realm is a metal band from North Carolina. They are known for mixing heavy metal with fantastical stories and myths, kind of like a metal spaceship ride through a magical world. If you dig that kind of music, Aether Realm might be your next favorite band. Oh! Fans of bands like Children of Bodom will love their catchy melodies and epic soundscapes.

2. Ningen Isu

Okay, this isn’t a new band. However, they're finally getting the recognition they deserve outside of Japan, which is why we wanted to include them in this list in case you haven't heard of them yet. If you’re ready to forget everything you thought you knew about Japanese music, this is your band. Ningen Isu is a metal band that goes all-out with unbelievably fast guitar riffs and complex song structures. They've been around since 1987 and are considered legends in Japan's thrash metal scene. If you like headbanging like a maniac, give Ningen Isu a try.

Since it’s already an established band, you can listen to their songs on YouTube, Spotify, and other platforms. But to enjoy their music, you must have a fast internet connection like Metronet Internet. Watch their music videos, too. They’re pretty cool.

3. Suicide Silence

Feeling angry? Need to scream into a pillow? Suicide Silence is here to help! This California band brings the pure aggression, with brutal vocals, heavy guitar riffs that hit you hard, and breakdowns that make you want to jump in a mosh pit. They're not for the faint of heart, but if you love extreme metal, you won't be disappointed.

4. All for Metal

This German band is a powerhouse formed by two metal veterans: Tim "Tetzel" Schmidt (vocals for Asenblut) and Antonio Calanna (vocals for hard rock band DeVicious). These guys are united by their love for the old-school sounds of metal and their mission to ignite a passion for it in a new generation – powerful riffs, divine vocals, and catchy choruses that will have you singing along and raising your fist in the air.

All for Metal has already released a lot of songs, so if you want to watch them, you can do so by visiting their YouTube account. And if you’re going to binge-watch, you’ll need a capable internet plan at home. If your current internet isn’t up to the task, it’s worth checking out other internet services like Boost Infinite plans and plans from other reputable providers.

5. Future Static

Future Static is a new metal band from Melbourne, Australia. They play a mix of heavy metal with cool sounds and singing but also throw in some surprises and tunes that get stuck in your head. We're talking about loud yet satisfying music that stays with you! Their first album, Liminality, came out in November 2023, so they're really new. We listened to their songs, and we actually enjoyed it. You might, too.

Final Thoughts

Metal may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who love it, there's a long list of headbanging songs and artists to explore. And again, metal isn't dying anytime soon. It's actually making a resurgence. Even though it might not dominate the charts like pop or R&B, it's thriving with a passionate and dedicated fanbase. Enjoy!
