The concept of the “Leave Me Alone” video started out as this idea that I had of running away from something through a cornfield, then taking a dramatic turn (I don’t want to give it away). We wanted to do something that was more like a film than a traditional music video so I talked to our director/editor Gene (Shaw) for a few hours and he had the plan all mapped out a few hours later.

The video has a children of the corn meets an old spaghetti western meets ghostbusters vibe or something.  We shot it in the cornfields on my friend’s farm over two days.  There was a LOT of running…. and mud. I literally covered myself in mud.  But it’s all in the name of rock n roll, right?!

The whole thing was basically DIY.  It was shot with one camera that our talented photographer/videographer friend, Chad Bank chased us around with.  Johnny's sons were the "monster". We even had our manager, Josh Balz, flying the drone.  He only almost killed me once haha.  Gene really took the reins and saw the whole vision.  The dude is a wizard.   He went crazy in post production and added some wild VFX elements taking it to a whole other level. I can’t even believe how rad it turned out!
