Fallcore; A Fundamental Piece of Texas Hardcore.
Didnt make it to this years Fallcore? Don't worry, they'll be back next year. In fact, this fest has been going strong for years. Debuting in 2001 by Britt Furman, the fest had only 10 bands from the then small Texas hardcore scene. Britt Furman reigned the head of Fallcore until 2005 when Furman discontinued handling the fest and allowed Willow Villareal of Hatetank Productions to take over. The fest has been hosted at a number of Houston venues throughout the years such as Fitzgeralds, Mary Jane's, and Walter's (old & new location). In 2006 and 2007 Fallcore evolved into a prodigious hardcore show, featuring two stages, over 20 bands and making its mark at the old Club Meridian downtown. The fest then moved back to Walters afterwards, making it home each year since then. In 2011, Daniel Albaugh (Die Young, Will To Live, Band of Mercy) has officially become a significant auxiliary to Willow, Hatetank Productions and Fallcore. Albaugh does part in promoting as well as coordinating the fest itself. In recent years Fallcore has booked exclusive Texas appearances for legendary out-of-state hardcore bands such as All Out War, Wisdom In Chains, Death Threat, Incendiary, Rival Mob, Foundation, and countless others, all the while maintaining its core principle of showcasing the best bands in the Texas Hardcore scene.
