Career Spotlight: Scott Waldman (Waldman's Words)
Tell us a little about yourself and your experience.
I moved to LA in 2003 after I graduated from college. I signed a deal with Sony, worked at a law firm for 5.5 years, and started my own music management company. I currently manage artists and producers. In addition, I also work as Senior A&R for Legend Recordings and have my own show on idobi called Waldman’s Words.
What drove you to choose your career path?
It was an accident. I offered my services to a former guitar student and I became her manager.
How did you go about getting your job? What kind of education and experience did you need?
You do NOT need any degree or certification to be a music manager. However, my BA in English helped a lot.
