Autlook Acquires International Rights To “Omar And Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird” Documentary
According to Variety, Autlook have acquired international rights to “Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird.” That documentary showcases the partnership between Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López of The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In and it will premiere in the U.S. during this year’s SXSW festival. The following was said about the film:
“The film shows the iconic duo’s journey from the hardcore scene in El Paso, Texas, to rock and roll acclaim; from growing up as minorities to their rise to success; from struggles with loss, addiction and Scientology to their blazing comeback. A depiction of love, death, and inspiration — with a soundtrack that has defined a generation.”
A previous synopsis added:
“Filmed over a period of 20+ years by founding member of At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, Omar Rodríguez-López, and containing remarkable footage from 100s of hours of Omar’s self-shot material – this is a totally unique window into the incredible journey of one of this generations most progressive and prolific musical partnerships – Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler Zavala.”
