Album Review: Sleep Token - "Take Me Back To Eden"
Sleep Token have officially released their new album, "Take Me Back To Eden," and it further justifies the hype that the band have been receiving.
From a musical perspective, the record has all of the rock/metal elements one would expect mixed with other soundscapes. Tracks like "The Summoning" and "Vore" showcase the heavier side of the band and their smooth R&B-like vocals, but that isn't all the record has to offer. In fact, sometimes it veers straight into the pop territory with songs like "Granite" and "Aqua Regia."
This push and pull of genres helps keep things interesting without being too erratic. The experimentation also helps breathe a breath of fresh air into the metal scene by pushing the boundaries of what this music is supposed to be. Whether you’re listening to an anthem like "Chokehold" or a piano-heavy piece like "Euclid," you're bound to have an awe-inspiring expedition courtesy of a masked group who are sure to continue making waves in the music world.
