Album Review: RadioBlack - Self-Titled

RadioBlack is a rock trio hailing from North Hollywood, California and they are ready to blow fans away. RadioBlack is the band's debut album and was recorded in the legendary"See Studio 606 with none other than Dave Grohl himself. As if that weren't impressive enough the album features some inspiring and impressive guests such as Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, as well as members of Jane's Addiction, Ozzy Osbourne, and My Ruin, Chevy Metal.

This self-titled album features 12 tracks that are already radio rock ready and sure to catch the ear of fans listening. The album was released on May 12th, and in honor of the album hitting it's second month we thought we'd share our thoughts on RadioBlack with you! "See Myself Out" starts the album off and showcases the band's ability to create a rock anthem with catchy choruses and lyrical content that anyone who's had their emotions played with can relate to. The remainder of the album follows suit producing songs that feel good to listen to, the whole album has this sway to it where you really can't help but bop along to it. RadioBlack has managed to channel this whole care-free freshness while still tackling tough issues within their lyrics. "Run Away" is a stand-out song in the album, touching at the heart of that constant uncomfortably in being stagnant and wanting to hit the road and find yourself again. It's one of those songs I can picture groups of people singing together, uplifting each other as much as they are themselves. The album slows a little with "Moment's Weakness" showcasing a more mellow side to RadioBlack, tackling the same depth of lyrical quality but adding more depth in the vocals. Even with this song being a bit more "chill" than some of the other songs on the album it still has a kick ass guitar solo in it to appease you rockers.

Overall, this album has "summer album" written ALL over it. This is something that is easy to jam out to and sing-a-long with and it's super relatable. After giving the album a run through there is no doubt in my mind there was good reason for the like of Studio 606 and their guest artists to invest their time into this album. The RadioBlack guys have made something special here. Be sure to pick up a copy of the album here and check out the video for "Thread" off of the self-titled below!
