For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Voids? How long has the band been around?

Before Voids, we were in bands such as From Far Away and Transitions. As of today, the band as a whole has been around for 5 years, with the brand, Voids, being around for 2 years.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

As far as the origin of the name, we wanted to base it around the goal that we wanted to accomplish. We want to fill the voids people have within their hearts in a positive way, such as music, instead of a negative way. Yes, the band name has been changed once before. From Far Away was the group’s origin but after slight member changes and taking the time to think about what we wanted to accomplish as a group, voids was born.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

When it comes to the instrumental side of the songs, Matt and Zack are the ones who write them and Chad Is the one that works with all of the lyrics. The topics for the songs normally depend on what concept the albums are about so they're always changing, but everything that’s written lyrically is based on of either Chad's personal experiences, what’s going on in his head, or what's happening with someone close to us.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Instrumentally we are inspired but Forevermore, Architects, and Fit For A King, but vocals are driven by bands such as Wage War and Issues.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

"All of us have our own influences when it came to starting a band but personally the artist that inspired me the most was Hawthorne Heights." - Chad

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect…

Other than just warming up on an instrument, can't really say any of us do any stretching or exercising before a show.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

The biggest highlight in our career so far would probably have to be some of our past shows we've had the Baltimore area. It’s truly amazing seeing at least 300 people of the whole metal community come together and support the scene down there. Since Chad's grew up playing shows in Baltimore, it's amazing seeing what the scene has become today since then.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

All of us would definitely love to tour with either Fit For A King or Architects, not just because they make great music but because they are some of the nicest people we've had the pleasure to meet.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

We would just like to thank our fans for all that you all have done for us, your support means the absolute world. Also be sure to catch us at one of our shows coming up in November and be sure to pick up your copy of No Character : No Crown today.
