7 Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

I've been listening to podcasts for the better part of two years (late to the game, I know). It all started when I heard that Maynard James Keenan was gonna be on WTF with Marc Maron.  From there, I branched out into The Nerdist, The Joe Rogan Experience, Pointless: With Kevin Pereira before eventually launching my own podcast. Planning the podcast is one of the important steps to take before you start this adventure. By listening to topics and people that interest you, you'll get inspiration and ideas, also learn a lot about how to structure and script your podcast segments. Enough about me, I wanna highlight some newer and better podcasts I've been getting into lately.

Shane Told, frontman of the critically-acclaimed rock band Silverstein, brings you candid interviews with all of your favorite singers on this podcast. Is it really all sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll? Find out for yourself on Lead Singer Syndrome.

Daniel P. Carter hosts the Someone Who Isn't Me Podcast and speaks to a bunch of people who are way more interesting than himself about life, art, music and stuff...

Listen and laugh as your hosts Steven Smith (disarmingly charming television host from Fuse, Myspace and VH1) Jonah Bayer (freelance journalist and former Music Editor of Alternative Press) and Mike Cangemi (television producer and music documentarian extraordinaire). talk with your favorite musicians, celebs and industry insiders and see where the conversation takes them on the Going Off Track podcast.

Musician, former television host, and podcaster Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed, Kingdom of Sorrow, Jasta and the former host of MTV's Headbanger's Ball) interviews your heroes every Monday and Thursday on The Jasta Show.

Break It Down is a podcast where Matt Carter of Emery and BadChristian talks to interesting people about stuff they know a lot about.

HBO's Bill Simmons relaunches the most downloaded sports podcast of all-time with a rotating crew of celebrities, athletes and media members, as well as mainstays like Cousin Sal, Joe House and other friends and family members who always happen to be suspiciously available.

Ray Harkins (from the band, Taken) dives deep with creators of independent culture from musicians, artists and other interesting people to find out what inspires them, how they came to be and many other unexpected places on 100 Words or Less.
