5 Bands That Need to Call It Quits

You can always tell when a band is overstaying their welcome because the quality of music goes down. Some are in it for the money, while others don't wanna see their dream die.

5. blink182

They're arguably more popular now than ever with the addition of Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) to the band. Although after the fallout with Tom Delonge, they should've just broke up. I mean, Fall Out Boy has put out 2 albums, and 1 EP since coming back from their hiatus while blink182 put out Neighborhoods and the Dogs Eating Dogs EP.

4. The Used

Their last three records have charted in the Top 20 but the lyrical quality has dropped off tremendously compared to their earlier material. Their openers for Take Action Tour 2013 for example; We Came As Romans and Crown The Empire. The band may have personally requested them but if you can't get any better openers than that, what does that say about the band? Then again, the band is taking out Every Time I Die on their upcoming tour, so perhaps they've redeemed themselves.

3. Alesana

I had the unfortunate experience of watching Alesana at Vans Warped Tour 2010. Their first release since 2011 was The Decade EP was released in April 2014. They're about to embark on a headlining tour and the support leaves something be desired...

2. Green Day

I'm a casual fan of Green Day but I can admit when they put out a bad record. In their case, three records; Uno, Dos, Tre. They've always put on a good show the two times I've seen them but no band should put out three albums in short time span unless it's a concept record. The band recently got together for a jam for the first time in a year. I'm curious to see where they go on the new record.

1. Metallica

We all know how terrible Lars Ulrich is at drumming. Terrence Fletcher couldn't even handle him. I would still see them if they ever came through town just to say I've seen Metallica. Other than that, there's no reason for them to put out a new record when they can still sell out arenas and amphitheaters.
